statement of faith

  • Our church is founded upon and governed by the Holy Bible, the inspired Word of God, consisting of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Scriptures were written by divinely inspired men and are God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. They are truth without any mixture of error and are the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

    • 2 Timothy 3:16–17

    • 2 Peter 1:20–21

    • Psalm 19:7–9

  • Our church aligns heavily with Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Below is the link to what our affiliation believes:

    https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/#xviii

  • God is the one and only living and true God, the Creator and Sustainer of heaven and earth. He eternally exists as one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in essence, power, and glory.

    • Deuteronomy 6:4

    • Matthew 28:19

    • 2 Corinthians 13:14

  • God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.

  • Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for sin, was bodily resurrected, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He alone is Lord and Savior, and every person may come directly to God through Him.

    • John 1:1, 14

    • John 14:6

    • Acts 4:12

  • The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates sinners; indwells, seals, guides, empowers, comforts, and equips believers for godly living and effective service.

    • John 14:16–17, 26

    • Acts 1:8

    • Romans 8:14–16

  • Salvation is offered freely to all people by the grace of God and is received through repentance by faith, in and from Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is not earned by human effort but is the gift of God, secured by Christ’s redemptive work on the cross and His resurrection.

    • Ephesians 2:8–9

    • Romans 3:23–24

    • John 3:16

  • The church is the body of Christ and consists of all believers who have been united by faith in Jesus Christ. A local church is a congregation of baptized believers who covenant together for worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and the proclamation of the Gospel.

    • Acts 2:41–42

    • 1 Corinthians 12:27

    • Ephesians 4:11–16

  • Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as a testimony of faith in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience, commemorating Christ’s death. These ordinances are expressions of faith and obedience and do not impart salvation.

    • Matthew 28:19–20

    • Romans 6:3–4

    • 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

  • Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory as King and Judge. He will judge the living and the dead, consummate His kingdom, and fulfill God’s redemptive purposes.

    • Acts 1:11

    • 2 Timothy 4:1

    • Revelation 19:11–16

  • God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society.

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.

Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.

A Statement of Faith is important because it clearly expresses what we believe as a church and anchors our life and ministry in the truth of God’s Word. It provides doctrinal clarity, guards the church from error, and unites believers around the essential teachings of Scripture. While a Statement of Faith does not replace the Bible, it serves as a faithful summary of biblical truth that guides our teaching, leadership, worship, and mission. By openly confessing our beliefs, we seek to glorify God, strengthen the faith of believers, and faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
